Yes, someone wrote to me and said that the reason that McDonalds says the grilled chicken salad is NOT gf is because the restaurants usually use the same knife and cutting board when cutting the breaded chicken and grilled chicken for the salads.

IMHO, I appreciate McDonald's stating that the grilled chicken salad is NOT gf - especially after learning this reason - it means that they are aware of cross-contamination issues.
