I'm so glad I asked about this, because I've had some very
educational answers, and thanks to everyone who wrote! The
information I received was very encouraging:

Nine people said that going GF helped their pain but did not
stop it. Most of these people had been diagnosed with
fibromyalgia, too, or had symptoms much like mine.

Four people said their pain continued after going GF, but
they had also been diagnosed with arthritis and/or osteoporosis.

Nine people said that going GF had completely stopped their
pain. Most of these people had been diagnosed with
fibromyalgia, too, or had symptoms much like mine.

Ten people said that going GF had helped their pain but
hadn't completely stopped it - but these people became pain
free when they found out what other foods they were
sensitive to and stopped eating these foods. These foods
included soy, corn, dairy, tomatoes, eggs, beef, sugar, and
Nutrasweet. The IGg4 Food Allergy Assay was recommended for
finding out what foods I'm sensitive to, and I'm definitely
going to do this. The person who recommended this test said
not to bother with the regular pin-prick allergy testing; it
doesn't work.

A couple of people said that they have yeast problems (which
I do, too) and that when the yeast go away, their pain goes
away. A product called Candex was recommended for yeast,
and I'm definitely going to get it.

One person found that resolving her adrenal insufficiency
stopped her pain. She recommended a product called Stress
Eze for this, and I'm definitely going to try it. I've read
too much about adrenal insufficiency associated with pain
and thyroid problems (which I also have) not to.

And a couple of people said that going GF didn't alleviate
their pain, but doing yoga helps a lot. And I'm going to do
that, too.

A truly remarkable essay called "Why the Plane of Our
Nation's Health is in a Death Spiral" can be found at:

Bless you all for your help - I see the light at the end of
a twenty-year pain tunnel!

Thanks so much,
Shelia
