Regarding my question about experiences with visceral massage
therapy...

Most of the responses received were from folks asking questions
about it and/or asking me to summarize. Only two responses were
from individuals who had actually experienced this type of
massage. Their responses were:

1. From someone who has had 30-35 sessions over the course of the
last few years...

"I have had GREAT results with visceral body work....He works on
releasing adhesions in my gut as well as other visceral treatment
(done manually with deep relaxation on my part as he presses
deep into my abdomen with his hands) along with structural body work.

I am so impressed by my healing when I have bodywork done. I feel much
better, my gut rumbles along happily again. I feel genuinely better. I
don't regress to the awful sore gut feeling (except if I get an
attack!). I also found that after an attack of unexpected gluten, having
the bodywork done helps me to "bounce back" faster."

2. The other individual simply wrote "I love visceral massage of the
myofacial sort. Yes, it has helped me with digestion and many other
aches and pains."

and

Because so many replied with questions about this therapy (and because
I'm too new to it to know much) I asked my therapist for a web link.
It's not much, but if you're curious about this type of body work,
check out http://www.upledger.com/therapies/vm.htm.
