Hi there,

I just came across an announcement of Magic 2.0, a tool that purports to
convert image-only PDF files into text on the fly, thus rendering
otherwise inaccessible PDF documents accessible. Information is
available at http://www.premier-programming.com/pdf_magic.htm.

I found the recent discussion on PDF-to-text conversion, a discussion
that did not include Magic 2.0, very inspiring. Any comments on this
product? Will it solve at least some of the problems mentioned in the
previous thread? To which extent, if any, will it change the position,
taken by most accessibility advocates, that PDF files (at least
image-only PDF files) are unacceptable--unless a text-based version is
also provided?
