A few weeks ago, I contact Cracker Barrel and was sent a list of supposedly
gluten-free items on their menu, which included their french fries.
Suspicious person that I am, I wrote back to them about the oil and .....this
is their response. I did not ask about their fried apples. I did ask about
the contents of their burgers and got no answer. I now have doubts about the
list I received. Numerous celiac listmates did write to me saying they have
no problem at CrackerBarrel...just ask the usual questions.

This is the actual response to the fries question:
Thanks for taking time to browse through the Cracker Barrel Old Country
Store® Web Site. It's always a pleasure to hear from our guests.
We appreciate receiving your recent inquiry. I have contacted our Product
Development Department regarding the French Fries. Our Fries are not gluten
free they are fried with other breaded products.
We apologize for any inconveniences this might cause you.
Again, thanks for the message. We look forward to hearing from you and
serving you again soon.
Sincerely,
Nicole Shaw
