Hi Folks,

Bonnie Moulton here.

I don't post much, but I like to think that quality sometimes
makes up for quantity ;-).

I am posting to let you know about a new initiative at Temple
University in Philadelphia.

The Institute on Disabilities at Temple University has
recently been awarded a two-year grant from the Pew Charitable
Trust to develop programming arouund health promotion issues
for individuals with cerebral palsy who are 35 and older.

We are now recruiting participants for the first grant
cycle. The program will involve bi-monthly (twice per month)
meetings a various locations in Philadelphia. The meeting
place will "float", (for variety) but it is hoped that all
paticipants, once recruited, will commit to attend each
meeting as each topic will build on the previous sessions.

Eight instructional modules are planned as well as activities
to be completed between sessions including web-based activities.

We intend to focus on management of secondary conditions,
fitness, nutrition and emotional health as well as providing
strategies for paticipants to set and work toward individual
goals related to health and wellness. Each participant will
also receive a packet of resource materials.

There is no charge for the sessions. They will take place on
Monday evenings from 5 to 7 PM. (to catch the after work crowd
and to leave weelends free.)

Food will be served and PAS will be provided.

I apologize to those of you who may have wished to participate
but who are not in close proximity to Philadelphia.

You need not live in Philadelphia to participate. We will
accept applications from the surronding communities including
S. Jersey or Delaware depending on how far you wish to travel.

We cannot, however, reimburse transpotation expenses.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail me
at [log in to unmask] or call me at 1-215-204-1485.

For those of you that live to far away to participate, one of
the outcomes of this project will be a website where many of
the materials that we distribute will be posted. Be aware,
though, that the website is a ways off.

Please contact me with questions or to apply as a participant.

Bonnie
