Hi Ron.

I have the '706 MkII G but haven't gotten around to the Icom 703. I see no
reason why it shouldn't work, as Icom based it on the same command set as
the '706. I think it is just too new for it to have fallen into very many
hands, especially considering the economic times we live in. As for the
'706, the biggest nuisance is that everything is in a set up menu, just
like all the other radios out there. You can tell where you are by
listening carefully to the length of the beeps, but absolutely nothing in
the menus can be voiced through the UT102. Nevertheless, it is the HF rig
that I use most of the time, for what that is worth, and I have nothing
more for vision than light perception, so if I can use it, anyone can use it.

I would heartily recommend budgeting the purchase of one of the Millenium
QSYer keypads, as it makes all the difference in the world for frequency
control of the radio. I would be curious what you think of the auto tuner
for the '703. I run the AT-180 on my '706, and it is the best auto tuner
I've ever used.

Hope this helps.
