I am going on vacation in several weeks. I will be able to cook my own food
for most meals, but for those occassions when I can't, does anyone know how
long one can keep cooked meat unrefridgerated so long as it is stored in an
air-tight container? The meat I'm thinking of carring around is diced tongue.
It's the only meat I cook thoroughly (other meats I always eat as bloody as
possible). I carried my veal tongue to the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and it was
a great snack -- but the weather was cold so I wasn't worried about the meat
spoiling. Since it's now summer -- I'm wondering if I can still carry meat
around for several hours without it rotting. Thoughts?
