Greetings,
I came across this news and thought I should share it with you.
-----------
BANJUL, Jan 12 (AFP) - Gambian security forces were questioning a man
suspected of being involved in an alleged assassination attempt on the US
ambassador to the country, the Gambian Interior Minister Osman Badjie said
Sunday.
"I know there is a suspect who was arrested last Thursday in a motel on
the outskirts of Banjul. Presently, this person is helping security forces
in their interrogation," Badjie told AFP.
Badjie declined to reveal the man's identity and refused to give any
further comment.
On Friday, the US State Department had announced two men had been
arrested Thursday in the west African country in connection with a possible
threat to their ambassador, Jackson McDonald.
