How about Dacron rope? It's supposed to be u.v. and rot/mildew resistant.
Various sises from 3/32 to 7/16. I have used it from time to time and it is
very easy to untie even after a lot of strain has been put on the knot.
It's very strong, but I don't know how it compares with Kevlar.
Davis RF, Cable-experts, Radio Works all carry it and I think also guys like
HRO and AES.
