I'm not a parent, but I can say I have first hand experience with a paleo
approach to baby food. When my parents were raising their family, they
could not afford baby food. My mother breast fed each baby for as long as
the baby wanted (about 2 years). When solid food was introduced, whatever
meat and vegetables they were having for dinner went into the blender
(separately, of course) and became baby food. Solid (pureed) food was
introduced whenever the baby was hungry and milk wasn't satisfying it. My
parents were not concerned about guidelines. Each baby (they raised 5) was
different. When the baby was hungry, they offered something and let the
baby decide when and what to eat. All of their (now adult) children have
always been very healthy.
