Enough magnesium in diet will solve constipation. There isn't enough in a common diet, or maybe paleo, but
pumpkin seeds are supposed to be a good source.
Some springwater has enough magnesium, but this is apparently rare.
I add magnesium bicarbonate to the local springwater, no _great_ effect, but I don't worry about constipation.
Note that Phillips Milk of Magnesia is used for this by those who believe in chemical solutions.
Maybe you are magnesium deficient? Most people are.
