List mates,

Thanks for the quick responses. 32 responses so far, and all in favor of
white zin as a GF commodity. Specific brands mentioned are: Sutter Home,
Corbet Canyon, Berringers, Franzia (including boxed variety), Ernest and
Julio Gallo and Cooperidge.

One interesting note from a list member who happens to work in a winery in
California. Wines with a 'normal' alcohol percentage of about 14% are GF,
Those with higher volumes, by percentage, of about 17% or more should be
questioned. I know some people claim all wines made in the US are GF, and I
only present this information because it was mentioned to me in my inquiry.
Still, I wonder why the "Winos" buy the cheap brands, whose alcohol content
is listed in the higher percentages? Is the alcohol content 'boosted' by
the addition of non-grape alcohol? I think I'll stay away from Ripple.

More later if it is warranted.

I hope this helps. Dave Taylor, Mentor, OH.
