Actually, many biblical commentators say that the Cain and Abel
story was an allegory about the tension between the earlier
hunter-gatherers (represented by Abel, who tended the flock), and
the agriculturalists who came and "slew" them (represented by
Cain, who tilled the soil).

So maybe not *original* sin, but one of the first few.
