Everyone's metabolism is different. Paleo is more of a dietary avoidence
program as opposed to needing to eat certain foods. You can easily follow
the neanderthin program without eatting tons of red meat.
I thrive on red meat and high purine foods. My diet is mostly red meat,
organ meat and a little fruits and vegetables. Some people do better with
less meat. Everyone need to find what works for them as opposed to a
theoretical ideal diet.
There is a book called "the Metabloic Typing Diet" by William Wolcott that
can help you figure out what your paleo macronutrient ratio should be. I
think Mercola has a new book out on the subject. I haven't read it and
don't know if it is any good
