Macadamias are always heated, unless you live in Hawaii & can
get them un-shelled. So are cashews, no matter what the label
says. Hazelnut/filberts & shelled pistachios are also cooked
usually (boiled out of the shell). I like raw pistachios in
the shell. Shelled pecans, walnuts, and brazils have the most
fat (85-90% of calories) and prevent overeating much better
than almonds (80% fat) or other nuts. For me, heated nuts do
not satisfy my appetite very well. Nor do nuts with 80% fat
or less (even if shelled by hand).
