Did the news that your're feeling great, with lots of energy fly right
over your nutritionist friends's head? :) Not to mention the weight loss
and reduction in allergies.

You could alway try switching to a higher carb diet and see how you feel,
but I tend to believe you should listen to your own body before the
"experts".

I think the wisdom of the paleo diet is that it has so much history behind
it (like hundreds of thousands of years). I would contend it's still the
optimal diet for humans whether you have one kidney, a half kidney or
four.

Let me give you an analogy, let's say you have a car that runs only on
unleaded gasoline. You're driving down the road and the muffler falls off.
Your "expert" friend in the passenger seat says "Oh! the muffler fell off
you should fill the tank with diesel now!" Well, of course your not going
to fill the tank with diesel because the car was designed to run on
unleaded gasoline (with or without the mufffler). Sure the car might even
run on diesel but it's going to be a smoking clunker :)
