Teeth are serious business. I bet you will feel the need for the
painkillers soon enough!
If you insist on going without antibiotics I suggest as low a
carbohydrate diet as you can stand. Bacteria thrive on sugar, much less
so on protein and fat. If you chew something sweet and drive sugar down
into the hole left behind by the wisdom tooth you are in big trouble.
Try to keep that place as clean as possible.
Tea is said to inhibit bacteria. You might want to use a strong tea
mouthwash every time after you eat. Might help.
I am pretty anti-antibiotics, as I am convinced that they are what
caused a lot of my gut troubles. But...an infected jaw is something
else again, something I would never want to risk. I think if it were me
I would go ahead and take the antibiotics in spite of my apprehensions.
It is your body, you have to call the risks for yourself.
Anyone else have any suggestions for how to prevent mouth infections?
