Agree with geese.
They had it and used it for sure.
Still I think the total amount for a Roman or Bandkeramik or
Celtic settlement was very low (maybe a few percent).

You can ask older farmers how it was 50 years ago (without all the
pesticide grown machine worked and foreign shiped fodder).
They enjoyed geese and pigs.
A goose on christmas, one at martin's day.
Meat every sunday. Leftovers or soup meat one or two more days of the week.

That in a rich (but populated) agricultural area, like Bavaria.
