> Anyone know what kind of vitamin D is in sardines?
No, but the Feb. issue of Consumer Reports On Health has this to say:
"In addition to boosting calcium absorption, Vitamin D may help ward off
arthritis and cancer. Many older people don't get enough of the vitamin in
part because the skin's ability to synthsize it from sunlight declines with
age. People at high risk for osteoporosis, including most postmenopausal
women as well as men over age 65, should consider taking a supplement
containing 400 to 1000 International Units (IU) of vitamin D, depending on
their age, **their intake of D-rich foods (mainly fatty fish and fortified
milk),** and their exposure to the sun."
