Dear Mr. Jallow:

My name is Aggo Akyea and I am looking forward to meeting you
soon. I hope the new executive will take your suggestions
seriously, and since this is their very first event they will
give us more details of the many different activities they have
in store for the rest of the year.  I know the past executives
have definitely not been "asleep at the wheel" otherwise we would
not have an Association we have today.

I admire your ability and penchant to state your point, stand by
it, and willing to defend it.  It is also very clear that you
have a lot of ideas.  But, so far nobody in AAM knows you. It
will be helpful if you would only come to African Association
meetings, and volunteer for some committee positions, or even
serve in the executive committee.

I have read a lot of your lamentations about the backwardness of
Africa.  In my estimation, people change backwardness by not only
coming up with ideas and talking a lot, but also working hard to
implement good ideas.  Talk is very cheap, so let's now begin to
see some people like you who have so many ideas step up and do
some work.

I have volunteered to help organize a Lecture Series for the
Association (in conjunction with the African Women's) to bring
speakers to Madison address topical issues about Africa, to help
both the community and us understand some of the problems facing
Africa and how best to deal with them.  I will like to invite you
to be on this committee to implement this Lecture Series program.

Looking forward to meeting you so that we can begin to do more
WORK!!!
