Hello friends.
I have just found out that the great South African singer Brenda Fassie passed away on Sunday, about a week after she suffered a severe asthma attack and was rushed to the hospital after she had stopped breathing. Doctors were able to recussitate her, but she remained in a coma until her death. Her funeral will be this coming Sunday in Cape Town. She was only 39 years old.
In honor of her life and music, I will give tribute to Brenda on "Panafrica" this Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. on WORT 89.9FM.
Peace,
Laurie
