MADISON AREA FAMILY ADVISORY/ADVOCACY COUNCIL (MAFAAC)
Do you want to help make quality K-12 education accessible to everyone? Are
you discouraged by low grade point averages and high dropout rates? Would
you like to work with a multi-ethnic group for the benefit of children of
color and other under-served populations? If the answer is yes, we'd like
to introduce you to a newly formed local group, MAFAAC, which addresses
these concerns and more.
Volunteer with MAFAAC for CHANGE BEYOND THE CLASSROOM...
--Work on the Alternative Handbook for parents and students of color or
different ethnicities.
--Help in organizing parents, middle school and high school student
groups at every school.
--Help compile data on achievement at the K-12 levels
--Volunteer to help plan our April 26 conference:
"Race and Education--Closing the Achievement Gap" in the Madison
Metropolitan School District
Come to the conference working group meeting at 7 p.m. this
Thursday, Feb. 20, at the home of Leila Pine, 22 Chippewa Ct. (for

Get involved in work for social change that will really make a
