We need YOUR help.....
State Representative Mark Pocan, the Urban League of Greater
Madison, Inc., Madison NAACP, the League of Women Voters of Dane County &
Common Cause in Wisconsin, Inc. are sponsoring a VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE
for the South side of Madison and the Town of Madison this Saturday March 2
at 12:30 pm at the Boy's & Girl's Club at 2001 Taft Rd. The goal is to have
people go door to door to register people to vote and request absentee
ballots for the April election.
This is a NON-PARTISAN activity intended to increase voter turnout
in a traditionally lower turnout area of Madison. If this pilot project
works, it will hopefully be reproduced citywide for the fall elections.
This is a predominantly minority neighborhood in South Madison. We
will be sworn as official registrars for voters at approx. 12:30 by the City
Clerk of Madison. We will hit the streets with targeted maps for
approximately two-to-three hours of voter contact, with a goal of getting
200 new requests for absentee ballots and registered voters.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Please give a few hours of your time this Saturday to an important
civic project. This coalition has not endorsed any candidates in any
elections. It is purely a get-out-the-vote activity to increase voter
participation in the April election.
If you are able to help, please confirm by phoning State Rep. Mark
Pocan at 256-6214 or his email at [log in to unmask]
<mailto:[log in to unmask]> . And please be at the Boy's & Girl's Club
by 12:30pm this Saturday.
THANK YOU!
