Below are the responses I received about Rogaine. Thanks for your
help:
********************************
Please summarize - I am interested in maybe starting on Rogaine for
hair loss that I have encountered since going GF.
********************************
yes, it is gluten free.
********************************
I don't know the gf status of Rogaine, but if you need it, it is because of
your thyroid dysfunction because of celiac. I haven't had that problem,
but I know of people that have.
(Janet's note: Others attribute hair loss in celiacs to malabsorption
issues.)
********************************
Why are you still concerned about vinegar? Distilled vinegar is gluten
free, unless the person has an individual sensitivity.
(Janet's note: I was asking about the *alcohol* in Rogaine. I was
under the impression that some alcohols can contain gluten. I have
read conflicting opinions on the GF status of distilled vinegars and
alcohols. I'm still on the learning curve. Please be kind!)
********************************
i can't imagine it would do any damage unless you were ingesting it,
however, if you want to get in touch with someone that will know for
sure, call 800.ROGAINE and ask to speak with a Product Specialist.
they are very knowledgeable about their product and are trained to
answer questions such as this.
