Hi list,
I worked on a Soyo system for a friend at work.
It was running fine when I gave it back to him.
But, when he took it home and plugged in the PS/2 keyboard he bent a pin
against another pin or against the metal shell and shorted out something
in the PS/2 ports.
He tried to bend it back but the damage was already done.
On boot the system stops with an error message saying something like your
"No keyboard present"
I used a different keyboard and got the same errors.
Reset the BIOS hoping it would let me in thru some miracle.(Lost cause, I
know)
In my opinion, his motherboard is now toast.
Sorry, but it sounds like yours is also.

By the way, this problem is not OS specific.
The error comes up before the hard drive is accessed.

And nothing against Soyo m/b's, I am on one now.
I built both mine and my sons using Soyo.
Happy Holidays!
Clint
