I have a set of the first four books in their UK release, and recently
re-read the fourth book--it's amazing how Rowling twines an engaging plot
with a very mature and non-patronizing look at real-world problems. I can
see why the books are such a great teaching tool--she makes it fun to think,
and possible not to have to.

I think in politics, we all need to take a step back and realize we aren't
electing perfect people here. Everyone has their foibles. This is a little
of the Frank Herbert fan in me talking--the whole point of the Dune novels
was to show what happened to a populace when they elevated a normal man to
hero status. Too often, that's what the US Presidency can be to people.
