my moms mind is being taken away from her. after i
attended to business, i went by the nursing home to
see her. 1 and a half hours, and the only one thing i
understand was she wanted me to go get chocolate. my
sisten warned me though that the people at the nursing
home had told them not to bring candy. they feed mom 6
times a day. sometimes desert. but, if we brough in
candy and cookies, they would not be able to insure a
healthy diet. these people really care for those at
the home. i am much more impressed with these than
those at the first home my siblings tried. they too
are more impressed. it is a world of difference when
the caregivers really care about what they are doing
as opposed to thinking of it as just a check. i made
it a point to tell them before i left on todays visit
(my second one) that i appreciated the work they were
doing.
parkingsons is taking my mom down really fast. i had
an uncle and aunt come in to visit. my aunt left
visably weeping. it is a harrible disease just as is
alzimers.
