If you have a clear CMOS jumper, usually just sorting the pins
will clear it (with the power OFF). This process will either
interrupt the battery power sustaining the values in CMOS
or delete the CMOS values themselves.
A 1/2 second is usually more than enough time to clear CMOS.
If you merely disconnect the CMOS battery, the time to clear
CMOS values may run from a few seconds to hours.
