I am not sure if this is the problem, but it sounds to me like DOS is not
finding your drive, while XP does. This could be explained by the fact that
XP (like all versions of NT) uses HAL instead of BIOS to detect and access
hardware devices. This is fine for installing XP, but it does not allow you
to boot - that takes place through the BIOS. Go into your CMOS setup and
make sure that the drive is recognized and set as the boot device. Perhaps
you have a different problem, but this is what it sounds like form your
description.

As briefly explained above, after switching my mobo and cpu, I cant get
windows xp to install, and when I can, it wont boot. I've spent the last 20
