Thank you to the 26 people who responded who have also had similar experiences.

9 suggested peripheral neuropathy,
 4 a pinched nerve in the spine, 
1 carpal tunnel syndrome (not that I have had it before), 
2 Vitamin B deficiency (definitely not that, my anaemia is the first thing to be cured, such that the md has ordered me not to take any more B Vitamins, especially B12),
1 swelling caused by fluid retention,
1 as a consequence of years of malnutrition and inflammation,
1 rheumatoid athritis,
1 osteoarthritis.

For the moment I have been prescribed a topical ointment to ease the pain, and am having an ultrasound done on January 2 and a test for nerve damage on January 15.

Will keep you posted as to the results.
