Two things: I e-mailed Alexia Foods to inquire about the gluten status of
their frozen potato products. I saw them in our local food co-op's catalog
and they looked delicious--sort of gourmet frozen potato wedges, some
flavored with spices, some not. They looked safe from the ingredient
listing, but I wanted to check before ordering them. Here is the response I
got:
Thank you for your interest in Alexia Foods, your feedback and concerns are
very important to us. We are pleased to inform youthat our products do not
contain gluten nor are they produced on machinery that produces other
products with gluten. No ingredients are derived from wheat, barley, rye or
oats.

Also, I called General Mills today to find out about their Old El Paso
Cheese n' Salsa (cheese product for dipping). The rep said it was GF and,
in fact, that if there was any gluten in the product, it would say so under
the ingredient listing (where it did state there was milk in the dip). Wow,
GM actually listing gluten as a allergen. I was impressed.
