Southern claims to fame include Moon Pies and Co' Cola, cornbread, hush
puppies, grits and other carb-loaded treats. That and a higher poverty
rate; the low-income diet is chock-full starch, i.e. cheap bread, noodles,
etc. Typical stock-up items for me when making jack squat and unfamiliar
with carbs' role in obesity? Ten-for-a-dollar ramen noodles. Makes sense
to me.
