Hi Trish,
The real reason for the civil war was not economics or slavery, the real
reason for the war was the issue of states rights and the federal
government. We will have another civil war before too long, if Bush has
his way. He's already made me hopping mad by securing Sutton's
advancement to the appeals court. I think Bush would've made an
excellent southern Democrat of the civil war era. The political
landscape has flipfloped from the civil war era. That may be the
reason behind the anti civil war feelings. People don't like to be
reminded of the fact that the state's rights issue has been fought over
already.
OKAY, I’m GOING TO PUT ON MY ASBESTOS UNDERWEAR SO KEN CAN BLOWTORCH
ME!!!!!!!!!! .,lol :)

Hi Ken,

I was just making a funny. To be honest the Civil War and the
Confederacy
are history - you don't wipe out history. To this day we have Civil War
re-enactments, Civil War Monuments, National Parks made out of the
battlefields. This is a huge part of US history, and it should be
remembered
- boths sides. While thru the years - its hallmark has been ending
slavery -
the I believe was it based on economics - ending slavery was a small
part. I
think they are crazy to want to destroy that mountain art piece - it is
an
art piece, it represents history. I know here in Alexandria - in the
center
of town - we have a Confederate Soldier Statue and memeriol. I hear
rumblings about removing him! I get upset - it honors the soldiers -
they
died - they deserve to be remembered. History immotalizes the victors
but
the vanqished have the same story. They were they brave, they died for
their
beliefs, and they are someone's father. brother, son, mother, daughter,
sister, they can also be remembered because but for a twist of fate -
they
would be the victors.

OOOPPPPPS - sorry I got long - Trisha
