The answer is they can still rush, they just need to rush it out the first
time. What is the profit motive for making products accessible? Little is
the answer.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Inaccessible Innovations

posting from Windsor Maine;
Steve Hoad

Hello David,
I've read with interest your commentary in the business section of the
Portland (Maine) Press Herald today.
http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/business/yourbusiness/041022vazdauskas.shtml
One of the many issues facing people with disabilities is the rush to
produce products that are new, innovative, glitzy, high tech, and,
unfortunately, inaccessible to many of us.

Is there a way that consumers can connect with manufacturers so that the
rush to production is somehow slowed so the needs of People with
disabilities can be understood and considered?

I am also sending this message to a couple of E-mail lists that I am a
member of---this issue has been discussed by us before.

Thanks for any response you can provide.
