I'm not against an all meat diet, in fact I do it
regularly. I always quickly drop weight, loose food
cravings, and feel great. But, my primary motivation
for eating paleo is health and longevity. I want to
be around for a while. There are tons and tons of
studies that show that general health and life
extension benefits go hand in hand with fruit and
vegetable consumption.

Mabey you could get the same benefits from eating
organ meats, but since I don't eat any organ meats it
would be extremely foolish of me not to eat my
veggies. I don't see any real downside to eating them
along with herbs and fruit in moderation.

Meat on the other hand has a couple of problems in my
mind and both of them have to do with cooking.
Oxidized fats and more importantly advanced glycation
end products which cause cardiovascular problems,
cancer, and other nasties that I don't want to be
dealing with as I get older. If you haven't heard of
AGE's do a Google search and get ready for some
depressing reading. One more thing to be worried
about.

If I made the decision to live off an all meat diet
the meat would have to be grass fed with plenty of
organ meats thrown in the mix AND 100% raw. In that
scenario I think an all meat diet would be very
healthy. I'm just not ready to go there.

Mark
