Another advantage of metformin, at least for me, is that it kills my hunger.
Sometimes a faint nausea, but worth it.

Also, you can get test strips for testing sugar in your urine.  You can test
foods with it by chewing it, spitting it out, and then testing.  Apparently
the
reaction only happens with amylase around.
