Yes, but isn't there another set of skills very different from those
manifested in people diagnosed with ADD and even more essential for
survival in the Pleistocene: social skills, empathy, ability to get along
easily with others and able to contribute positively and readily to the
group?
Perhaps I am being influenced by the BBC's Walking with Cavemen programs
which are fresh in my mind, but those programs' focus on sustained
interaction between Homo individuals in small groups and the creation of
human culture rather than just the 'action movie' stereotype of the solo
hunter-gatherer seems to paint a more rounded picture of the ingredients
required for survival in the Pleistocene.
