"Dr" Jenny Brand-Miller once e-mailed to me in a private exchange that high
> carbohydrate meals still produce less blood sugar swings than high protein
> meals. Ho Ho Ho. Bit like, Where are the WMDs???

Yes, I have read the argument, made by Brand-Miller et al, that the body has
a natural preference for using carbohydrates as fuel and is more likely to
store dietary fat as adipose fat, and that storing carbohydrates as fat
"wastes" energy - has a thermic effect.
This appears to contradict Cordain, despite the two of them co-authoring
various articles.
It also runs counter to other eminent writers such as Gerald Reaven, who
argues that no-one should be eating a high carbohydrate diet, whether high
or low GI.
Who to believe? I have no scientific training. But I'm learning to listen to
my own body.
