Recently a friend of mine was having problems with his computer. I downloaded a program for antivirus its name is antivir personal edition six. Approximately 44 files were damaged beyond repair which the program deleted. The main problem he's having is neither his CD ROM or his CD read/write work. He downloaded one of these on-line repair services which found many many problems. The system is Windows 98 2nd edition. When booting up the system something called ameritrends also boots up. He has a restore disk but I don't know all is that will also restore this ameritrends program. What I'm thinking is how can I get the CD ROM working so that we can just use the restore disk? Perhaps there's another way to go but I don't know. thanks Jerry Humphrey
