I have been eating a lot of chili. It's easy to cook and tastes good.
The problem is that my current recipe calls for a jar of tomato sauce.
At this point I am trying to get to a strict paleo diet, which for me
includes the elimination of all nightshades. I'll consider re-additions
latter. I tried the chili recipe in Ray Audette's book but found it a bit
bland, even with the spices.

Can anyone recommend some alternatives to tomato that can add some flavor
and also be strict paleo? I looked at paleofood.com but all the recipes
called for tomatoes.
