I know the paleo way of eating is not Atkins, but it still may be classified
as a high protein, low carb diet.  But it is interesting to us nonetheless.:

Anyone who has shunned pasta and potatoes and gorged instead on bacon and
beef in an attempt to shed pounds knows this: Low-carbohydrate, high-protein
diets DO work. You can lose lots of weight fast. But do you do so at a great
risk to your heart health? No. At least, not in the short run. Those are the
latest surprising findings from researchers at the University of Cincinnati,
who are disagreeing with most physicians and pronouncing these diets as
posing no short-term cardiovascular problems.
