Hi Everyone! I just received a fax from Tracey Bonano at Panera Bread that lists gluten-free items. Imagine us going to a bread place for gluten-free? (I go to a bagel shop near my gym to buy a hard boiled egg and a banana. It's great for will-power.) ;-)

Anyway, here's the list:

Soups: (Source of Modified food starch is corn)
Vegetarian Lentil
Vegetarian Black Bean
Savory Vegetable Bean
Moroccan Tomato Lentil
Potato Cream Cheese
Vegetarian Vegetable Gumbo
Mesa Vegetable Bean
Moroccan Tomato Lentil

Salads : (Source of Modified food starch is corn)
Greek Salad
Fandago Salad
Caesar Salad (without croutons)
Asian Sesame Chicken Salad (without Won Ton Noodles)
Classic Salad
Strawberry Poppyseed salad w/ chicken

Of course, I have questions - as we all do, but still, this is a great start. Her e-mail address is [log in to unmask]

Let's all thank and encourage them to go further with this. Wouldn't it be great if they could develop their own gluten-free bread? They need to realize the numbers of us that are out here and the customers they can win. Let's face it, we wouldn't go there alone, but would bring in more people with us.

I'll bet that in five years, all the chain restaurants catch on and start helping us more.

Good luck!

Charlene (Haven't had soup since I got this crazy disease and plan on going to Panera soon.)
