I don't know how true this is overall, but I was having lunch with a friend in a diner today (scrambled egg and some hash browns), when I was told that a lot of diners around the country put white bread in their tuna salads. I don't know how pervasive this is, but one might want to ask when ordering. I was told this is also true of some chicken salad. This is on the East Coast, in CT.
