The Staten Island Advance (April 30, 2003) has an article about Gabriel's
Dessert Boutique at 941 Manor Rd., Castleton Corners. Their gluten-free
goodies include brownies, pavlovas, mousse cakes, strawberry shortcake, and
cheesecakes as well as "the classic Italian seven-layer cakes that are
gluten- and lactose-free," says baker Michael Gabriel. There's also pizza
dough and muffins and a popular Financier cake.
The article can be found--until 14 days after the publication date, as I
understand it--at the following URL:
http://www.silive.com/search/index.ssf?/base/living/1051713955193950.xml
I'd be interested in learning about the quality of the offerings, and the
accessibility from Manhattan and elsewhere.
David
