Jerry and Terri,

I have had some luck using Open Book V7 for both of the problems expressed.
Under its (file) commands it has a specific item for making an audio version
of a print document using tts.  It also is able to convert those pesky PDF
files to usable MS Word doc files.  This is done through the (save as)
command.  Since it is using OCR, the native format is no longer PDF, so the
info in the tables can be cut and paste more easily.

Hi everyone,
 
I am looking for a program that will convert a MS Word document to a .WAV or
.MP3 file so I can listen on a portable device, any ideas?  I have found a
couple (Aldo's Text to Speech and Advanced Text to Speech), but have not
been able to truly test them without buying them.  I don't want to buy a
lemon!
 
I have JAWS 5.0.  I know it will read it aloud, but will it read to a file?
