Hello list, I have been trying to setup a vpn and share my files from my desktop with my laptop at my house. I have a Window XP Pro desktop connected via ethernet cable to a Linksys WPC54gs router. I connect my laptop through its built in wireless card. Email and internet access works fine on both machines. On the desktop I setup windows networks wizzard to confiure the netword using the setting that said "this computer connects directly to the internet or through a hub" and turned on file and printer sharing. I named the computer "OfficePC" and left the default workgroup name of "mshome". I then went into my documents and through the sharing menu choice AI turned on file sharing on the network and allow changes and called the folder "officedocs". I then did the same thing on the laptop but called it "notebook" and called the my documents folder as "notebookdocs". What do I do from here? When I go into my netword places on the desktop I see the local documents folder but not the one on the laptop. Likewaise when I go into my netword places on the laptop I see the laptop documents but nothing about the desktop. I tried map network drives but same results the tree view doesn’t show anything about the other computer. I tried shutting down zonealarm firewall but it didn’t seem to make any difference. Cany anyone help thanks
Frank
