Dear list members,

AiSquared, makers of the screen magnifiers ZoomText Xtra and BigShot
Software, has announced a new product VisualScan.

VisualScan is a product design for the visually-impaired to view and read
printed material by scanning it. The scanned material can be magnified up
to 100 times on the computer screen. VisualScan includes automatic reading
features and an easy way to fill out printed forms on the computer.

A prototype of VisualScan was showed at the Closing the Gap conference.
AiSquared hopes to release VisualScan at the CSUN conference in 2001.

AiSquared is also working on VocalScan. VocanScan will add speech to
VisualScan so that visually-impaired people can listen to their printed
material by scanning it.

For more details about VisualScan Visit the screen magnifiers homepage at:
http://www.magnifiers.org
and following the links there.

Regards Peter Verhoeven
