Hello Judith

I am another person who figured out their own food no-nos. I found this
book helpful: "The complete guide to Food Allergy and Intolerance by Dr.
Jonathan Brostoff and Linda Gamlin", published by Bloomsbury Publishing
Limited, 2 Soho Square, London, W1V 5DE, UK. I unearthed it recently, so
I can probably run its ISBN to earth if need be. I've had it for years,
so don't know if it's currently in print.

I also get migraines, and either I'm still eating something I shouldn't
be, or I have other migraine triggers as well as food. I tend to get
"let down" migraines after I've been under stress, so I think it's other
triggers.

The starting point when I became suspicious that my diet was making me
ill was a list of foods which my mother said triggered her migraines.
They didn't appear to be definitely triggering migraines for me
(although a surfeit of chocolate will do it) but were giving me a
mixture of diarrhoea, constipation, and peculiar tingles in my hands and
feet. Milk seemed to be responsible for diarrhoea, while eggs were more
likely to cause constipation. All of the foods I now avoid would appear
to have been making my gut pretty sore, and interestingly, I react badly
to egg albumen in dental anaesthetics and need to avoid that as well as
not eating eggs. As this is a NO-MILK list, I won't go into more details
though:-)
