I am a vegetarian also.  There is one brand of gelatin that isn't derived
from animals.  It is Emes and is available at most health food stores.  It's
gelling properties come from a sea plant.  You can purchase this product
plain or in a variety of fruit flavors.  It works very well and tastes good.
